Baby Pantry

I am planning to hold an event after the holidays.  It will be a "Baby Pantry".  My goal is to help mothers or families that are having a hard time supporting their little ones that they have.
My plan is to put an ad in the paper advertizing so that people will donate some items.  My mom knows a lady at the courthouse who would know what to do with the items.  Anybody and everybody can donate anything they want.  Everything helps!  I would more than likely set up at Sodak Gardens for a day or so and on that day anyone can come out and support the cause! I am very excited to take a step and help out!

DIY Diaper

I used the link from my previous post to give me a guide on how I would go about making a cloth diaper.

Mine will not be the exact same, because I am making one for my "Baby Think It Over",  but it is the same concept or idea.

  • First I took the diaper they already have and traced around it to get a shape that I could use For my pattern when cutting out my cloth.
  • Then I cut out what I traced.
  • Then I got fabric that matched.  My mom had scraps from blankets she had made so I didn't have to go buy any.  You don't need two different colors I just wanted one on the inside and one on the outside.
  • Lay out your fabric and trace it and cut out your pattern or you can pin it on and cut it that way too.

I just pinned down my pattern then cut around it on the heart pattern and a plain pink that I had.

 .
  • These are the two that I will be putting together.  Now when you pin them together, have them inside out.  When you sew them, leave a little hole somewhere where you can turn them back out.  It will make it look a lot better!

  • <---Here I sewed them together with the pattern facing each other.  Then where the little hole was, you turn it back out where you can see the pattern.  Then sew that hole up.

  •  This is what they look like turned inside out.  I made two as you can see.  The final step would be to put Velcro on all the tabs of the diaper so you can fasten them  together.

Researching Options

Tonight I am researching some of the options I have as a "Parent".
I am going to find out if it's worth making your own diapers once in a while and making your own baby food vs. buying it.
I found a diaper tutorial that I am going to try to do myself.
Here's the link.

Will post my results when I'm done!

Babies!

These are the babies I received a while ago.  I didn't start right away because I have been reading about them and didn't know how to work the cry box.  I also haven't found a week to start it but I'm just going to make my self do it!  There really isn't a "good time" to do a lot of things, like have a baby and that's why it's pretend for me.  I hope to get some other activities in on this as well as all my research I have to do!
